LKS and KS still make no sense...
TianChua is just like his boss still alot of BS...act like a elected official la...
Teresa Kok wants to be treated like a princess...its detention..what do you expect....
Tourism Minister is doing the same thing when she was Sports Minister...coming up with stupid wasteful projects....
Home Minister is fumbling everytime he opens his mouth...
PM is still not taking advantage of current global issues wisely...
MOH please faster with list of products that are melamine infected...
Suprisingly Mr. Independent Ibrahim Ali is finally making some sense tho hypocritical..
Malaysia needs a new hobby...enough of this never ending political soap that is preoccupying every Malaysian mind..Malaysia needs to get going so that we wont get caught in the negative spiral of the global economy...
By Election: Pematang Pauh....even if BN wins, they still lose..
Author: everydaymalay
If you read my earlier writings..I am not really pro Barisan Nasional (BN), nor am i in favour of Pakatan Rakyat (PR)... i am in favour of politicians who lead honestly via example and of a government who can manage my beloved country...
BN currently have many issues to sought out and needs to clean up...but PR for all their shouting of political reform and press freedom are not doing that well either. Their refusal to prove to Malaysians that they can rule the 5 states they have won well but instead is preoccupied in trying to make Anwar Ibrahim (AI) Prime Minister of Malaysia is very selfish politics.
Now we have got pressmen being attacked....as usual PR Politicians says its conspiracy by the 'enemy'. Why can't they just investigate and accept the fact that some members of PR are rowdy and overzealous ...as with some members of BN. The leadership cannot say they know every single member of their party or supporters. When AI is investigated by the police they say its conspiracy and the police are slaves to BN, but when pressmen are attacked they say wait for the police to investigate.. so when it suits PR the police are ok when it doesn't the police are bad.
PR have not applied for any permits from the police for their 'ceramah' (gatherings) because they are in defiance. What is wrong by asking for a permit to hold ceramahs? if the police deny you the permit you can always declare the police as being bias and hold your ceramah anyways!
If PR win they will tepuk dada ''beat their chest" and say see the rakyat (people) do support us.. (yes, PR will win because Permatang Pauh is AI's bastion), if they lose is because BN cheated with invisible voters and so forth...so if BN wins, they still lose..
Things Malaysian Politicians & Government Agencies Can Look Into....
Author: everydaymalay
With the burden of higher fuel prices and higher prices of food/good/housing/cars and so forth...plus the 7% plus inflation, the political leaders, politicians and the government instead of endless bickering can look into the following to ease the daily burden of the rakyat (citizens) which can also better the quality of life of Malaysians in general.
1. The obvious is control prices of necessary food items i.e.. rice, flour, sugar, salt, milk, chicken, meat, fish...etc.
2. Reduce interest rates for housing loans and taxes on homes less then a RM600,000.00
3. Reduce taxes on cars, this will allow all middle class Malaysians afford better made car with better safety standards and fuel efficiency. The lower middle income can then afford the smaller cars instead of daily putting their lives at risk with motorbikes.
4. JPJ to abolish road tax for cars less the 2500cc. But all cars under 2500cc must pay a RM20 registration yearly for administration fees for yearly stamping their registration cards to show proof of insurance. JPJ can make money via selling government printed car number plates at RM50 per pair. Thus there will be no more confusion what is an allowable number plate font size or choice of material plates, eliminating ambiguity of 'fancy' number plates. All citizens from the Kin, Prime Minister to the ordinary folks will all have the same type of number plates. Maybe the colors can vary for the King or Prime Minister or from state to state. The tender for special numbers can still be conducted by JPJ. Singapore, Thailand and even Philippines have done this along time ago.
5. Malaysian drivers needs re-education on driving. Many need to know how to use the indicator lights when changing lanes or making turns or stopping. They need to know where they can or cannot park, Malaysians drivers love to double park and park at corners which make it impossible for other cars to turn. JPJ can pay more attention to these re-education programs. Enforcement by the Traffic Police and Local Councils must be consistent.
6. Companies owning heavy vehicles ie, lorries, trucks, buses etc. must ensure these vehicles are in good maintenance at all times to ensure public safety. JPJ/Puspakom must ensure all vehicles inspected are in compliance to the strictest safety standards. Again enforcement must be consistent. Owners (Company Directors) must take responsibility for any public liability due to mechanical failures by said heavy vehicles.
7. Creation of standardise and integrated sidewalks being at least 2 meter wide at all urban centers and 1.5 meter suburban housing. This is to ensure pedestrian safety.
8. Al public and private educational Institution (schools, colleges and universities) to have sufficient parking, waiting bays for cars and buses. This is again to ensure public safety and minimal disruption in traffic flow.
9. All areas or buildings (commercial or institutional) ie, Shopping Complexes, Convention Centres, Stadiums, Mosques, Churches, Temples etc where mass public congregates there must be sufficient parking and proper management of traffic flow.
10. Creation of pocket public parks instead of huge unpersonal parks for the daily use of citizens. Creating pocket public parks are more manageable in term of cost for developers and city councils. Maintenance of said parks are much easier. Mega parks should only be part of the natural ecosystem or defined urban green lungs. Mega parks must also incorporate wildlife corridors.
11. Protection of Rivers is a must. All development (ie. squatter housing, illegal housing, etc) within the river reserve must be stop period. No questions or appeals to be entertained. NO development in terms of any man made structures whatsoever along the river reserves. Water front projects are allowed only at river mouths and urban areas taking into account at all times the well being of the river. A River Police Enforcement Division dedicated to the well being of Malaysian rivers must be set up.

Signages...its a NON issue...PKR Penang Still Useless
Author: everydaymalay

Road Signages should not be an issue debated at the Dewan Undangan Negeri. Where in the world does a country adopt more then two languages for its road signs (usually in their respective national language and in english)? This is total provocation on the part of an irresponsible state government. There are planning and city laws on how road signages are erected. It has to do with type of Font, Size of signage, Visibility of signage, Material of signage, Colour codes used, Place of Erection and so forth so that the City Councils Public Liability will be protected at all time. You PKR politicians have no respect for laws is it? And the Gerakan signages are ridiculously big, disrespecting the National language. Why can't you people in power be it PKR, BN or whatever deal with real issues when dealing with urban matters (real issues when dealing with any matters) and not provoke racial ones. Real issues as in better side walks for pedestrians, side walks without poles erected everywhere, roads and alleys with sufficient street lights to prevent crime, cleanliness at hawker centers, better management of drains and rubbish, and put up decent signages where it is needed... STOP this racial provocation on something that has been agreed upon for the last 150 years.
By the way, Melbourne (Australia) and Vancouver (Canada)... both have a high percentage of Chinese population...(they get more foreign tourist than Penang also) but do you see street signages in Chinese characters...NO...because everyone abides by the law of the land and not just simply creates their own. In fact we don't have to go far...Singapore..full of Chinese..full of WORLD tourist....do they have road signages in other languages?
The Debate...Anwar Vs Shabery
Author: everydaymalay
Personally I think it was a waste of time AI is just repeating himself over and over and Shab was just repeating the government's stance on the matter of oil issues. AI is using oil issues as a political mileage and Shab was just jabbing.
The raise in oil prices is inevitable but to counter that the government must find solutions for better wages, reduce in prices of cars, housing, goods and most of all food items.
Stop protecting the national cars, we will have better cars at lower prices.
Stress on developers on building better homes, we were already paying exorbitant prices for housing way before the fuel crisis.
Higher taxes on sin items... cigarettes and liquor/beer/wines etc. Higher taxes on IPP's earnings. Banks cannot make more then RM500 million in profit a year, access should be channeled back to depositors.
Encourage agriculture reforms so that we will produce sufficient basic food, rice, produce, poultry and dairy etc.
Stop wastage's is government spending.
Foreign Press
Author: everydaymalay
The foreign press reports on Malaysia is totally bias. They don't know Malaysia and what this country is all about. They just make simple assumptions and will write in support of anyone who sounds like a Freedom Fighter. Let me ask them, is Abdullah Badawi known as tyrant or a dictator? Has he committed any crimes of oppression? Has the opposition been stop from holding political speeches? I think AB's mistakes are only related to having unpopular political and economic decisions which he is trying to rectify. The current Cabinet is made up of representations from all races in Malaysia.
Malaysia has elected a government to rule. It has also chose a bigger opposition. Can AI stop all hoopla about being the next PM by September and concentrate on running the 5 states that his member parties have won. By the way if it wasn't a fair elections as claimed why did the opposition win Selangor a very rich state. If it was rigged the opposition wouldn't have won anything. But now they do have 5 states and 72 MP's in Parliament. Run these states well and maybe we can all believe you.
What Malaysians want is a leader that can take us forward. For now the majority have elected BN as the ruling party still, so can we let them rule and make policies for our betterment. Malaysians also have chosen a bigger opposition representation, so that the check and balances are there. If this BN government fails to deliver our expectations with the next 5 years maybe we will elect the current opposition as government. Currently all the opposition has to do is just prove their worth ruling in the five states that they control.
To both sides, stop the political bickering, just get the country running again. The Rakyat is more important then any self centered political agenda.
Malaysia....Half Year Assessment
Author: everydaymalay
Half a year gone by what has Malaysia got... MIC political killing (unsolved), MCA sex scandal (solved..brave man admits his mistakes confronts his accusers not go for Turkish back rub), kidnapped child (unsolved), general elections (solved, still same ruling party but weaker, more opposition voice is good), Oil Price up (expected but not by 40%!), No Confidence vote by coalition member SAPP (if you don't want to be part of the government or the opposition , join Ibrahim ALi! don't be a lalang or wild grass swaying in the wind!) AI accused of another sodomy allegations (what can i say, did the Turkish rub down help? Face your accuser, swear on the Quran and be done with it, if you didn't do it then you didn't la! You are mud slinging with the best here, you of all people know it!), DPM accused of being involve with murdered Mongolian (again Mr. DPM your opponents are the most skillful at mud slinging, so watch for that sucker punch!), Statutory Declarations (it doesn't mean anything i guess, anyone can make any declarations and take it back!) and what else.....oh yes ...who is running the country?
We have an elected government yet the opposition still wants to rule it tomorrow! Can the current federal government just get on with running the country properly and deal with the peoples daily problems. Can PKR stop creating havoc everywhere and prove themselves at running the 5 states that they rule with what they had promised. Rule well in Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor maybe you can make the rest of Malaysia believers. And just maybe by the next election you might win more seats and be the next Federal Government. But wanting to rule the whole country tomorrow is not going to help anyone least the rakyat. To AI we are not living in a police state, you are not under house arrest, you are not a freedom fighter and you will never be (freedom fighters don't run and hide!), you only have political foes (but that is the job you chose, so thus come the competition). You are free to move about and to have your political rallies even after the elections. No one dares to say anything to you, without you saying we are all wrong. However, we will not sacrifice the peace and harmony of this country for one man's quest for power. Neither we will take the lack of or slow response by the PM to our current woes sitting down. Mr. PM please formulate faster solutions to solving your rakyats problem with the raising cost of everything.
No more Drama's we want solutions!
Rakyat=The People
AI...I really don't get it...
Author: everydaymalay
AI accused of sodomy, he runs to the Turkish Embassy..why? You say your life is threaten and the Malaysian Police can't help you, you seek refuge in the Turkish Embassy yet left your wife and kids outside! I don't get it, wouldn't you fear for the safety of your wife and children to. How can a man leave his wife and children to face the media, public and any 'real' threats and yet he sits comfortably in another man's house? I don't get it.
A real 'leader' or man would face his accusers or his problems head on. He would stand his ground for his beliefs and convictions without fear. That is how all real so called liberators are. But then again I guess AI isn't one. Correction to his wife's statement...your husband is not this country's leader, he is not even an MP, he just PKR advisor at moment, unless PKR give's him a new title. 'De Facto" Leader is just a media term!
How do you select a personal aide? Wouldn't an aide to the man with such 'importance' as AI be selected with great scruitiny. You would just want anybody to be his personal aide. You would choose someone with experience, someone you know not only based on his work but also personally. And in this case you would also want to know who his family is. The firsts thing that you would look for is does he have ties to the 'enemy'! "We were to busy to check.." is not an excuse! So I really don't get it. I have interviewed secretaries and personal assistants, made background checks and just within an hour learned alot about the applicants. Its not rocket science.
Can the opposition especially the PKR, please not speak as though you are all under house arrest or gaged without a voice! You have won 5 states, you are in the media consistently, you have 78 MP's and yet you talk as though you holed up somewhere without air to breath. There is no restriction to any of your movements. Again why does AI need to run to the Turkish Embassy, you can seek refuge in the houses of 5 state Chief Ministers (I am sure Mr. Lim of Penang can protect you and so can Tok Guru in Kelantan).
To the current Government please ensure that our resourceful PDRM (Malaysian Police) protect AI and family with great care. Don't let any harm come to them. If not the AI drama will not end.
I pity our PM, not only he is the scapegoat for everything wrong in this country, now he as party leader must also deal with accusations of conspiracy. Maybe our PM have certain weakness in running this country which is a combination of many factors directly or indirectly related to economics and political decisions but I really do not think plotting AI's downfall via sexual overtones is one of them.
Whatever it is... i really don't get this AI drama. We already have an elected government, some states is ruled by the opposition but most states is run by the current government. It's a good mix. We now have a record number of opposition in parliament, which is also good. So why can't our politicians ALL of them just carry on with the job of running the country properly and formulate ways for ALL us Malaysians in overcoming our daily grind. Those politicians with inner demons should be brave and face their demons head on and not leave it to others to deal with it.
This PM just don't get it...

(1 Million Malaysian who are sick of the RM2.70/liter Petrol Price)
Cars and Printers...
Author: everydaymalay
If you wanna raise the price of petrol please give us safer, better built, fuel efficient cars at a lower price. We all know only the Continental and Japanese cars fit those categories. Safer so that the airbags can protect the passengers during an accident, safer that the car is made of materials that can allow the airbags to work, not cars which crumple so fast at even during 25km accidents that does not even let the airbags have time to work. Better built means cars that are not death trap sardine cans. Fuel efficient means better fuel management via advance ECU's.
Take the example of the desktop printer, the printer itself is usually cheap and reliable, but the cartridges that make it work are expensive. If you have both the items expensive no one can be productive?
It Pisses Me Off....
Author: everydaymalay
I haven't been writing in awhile....been just been reading and listening alot....the following just pisses me off...
1. Car Prices - The car prices in this country is just ridiculous and a scam! Why do we have to keep protecting Proton and Perodua or any other so called local car manufacturers? Why do we need to be forced to buy substandard cars in design, built quality and maintenance? Why do we have to pay ridiculous amounts for AP's (Import Approval Permits)? Why do we need keep supporting a substandard local manufacturers? If they can't build proper cars that can compete in the global market why should we be the ones stuck with it without a choice? Local car manufactures are a joke, Proton and Perodua are based on Japanese cars. Seen the Perodua Nautica? It a re-badged Toyota made by Diahatsu (Rush and Bego). Naza re-badges Kia's from Korea and Peugeots. Inokom is re-badging Hyundai's. We have protected Proton/Perodua/Inokom/Naza long enough, its about time the fly on their own and face the reality of real competition. It does not take rocket science to be profitable if you are protected all the time. It PISSES me off!
Malaysian middle class (lets take those who makes between RM60,000.00 to RM92,000.000 a year) should be able to buy a decent car with the quality of BMW's, Mercedes or even Toyotas without giving up 3 years salary and awhole lot more money in interest. A 3 Series BMW in the US cost anywhere between RM92,000.00 (that is less than a Proton Perdana!) for the low end and RM138,000.00 for the high end (with Taxes). Yet for a basic 3 Series here it starts at RM238,000.00 or so. If the government can't give us nothing else at least give us a better quality of life. Why should only rich Ministers and MP's or the rich should be the only ones enjoying luxury in this country when we all pay our dues? Why can't we all own better cars like the rest of the developed world? Why does the government import taxes have to be so high? Just to protect Proton and Perodua's who build half baked cars? Why do we still have the crappiest taxis in the world? In the old days before Proton we even have Mercedes as a normal Taxi, it was comfortable, spacious and safe. Now we have small outdated Proton Sagas and Wiras as our base taxis. Why do we need to ride cars which are poorly made or ride buses which breakdown or inconsistent in schedule? Why do the rakyat have to pay and suffer for protecting Proton/Perodua? Why? It PISSES me off!
PASSENGER CARS (PETROL ENGINES)
Import Duty (Year 2000, still similarly the same now):-
Up to 1799 cc 140% of CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight)
1800 cc - 1999 cc 170% of CIF
2000 cc - 2499 cc 200% of CIF
2500 cc - 2999 cc 250% of CIF
3000 cc and above 300% of CIF
- Import Duty for passenger cars with diesel engines is set at a flat rate of 120% of CIF.
- Sales Tax is calculated based on 10% of (CIF + Import Duty charged)
The Import duties are ridiculous! The above is not yet inclusive of AP prices and dealer profit margins! And where does this tax revenue goto, we are still paying high toll rates, our road are still full of pot holes and uneven resurfacing! Now we are also paying for higher fuel! It PISSES me off!
2. Public Transport - The announcement that more public buses will be on the road will not really benefit the public! It will only benefit bus suppliers who are government linked! These buses will always breakdown due to being poorly made and badly maintained, thus they will never be on time. If you don't believe just try waiting for a bus in Taman Tun or Petaling Jaya that actually goes to your destination. The middle class will always need cars, we need to goto meetings for the company within the shortest time possible, that can't happen if you depend on the bus! RAPIDKL should change its name to CRIPPLEDTURTLEKL. I will write about the impracticality of the LRT/Monorail/ERL in another section. It PISSES me off!
3. Interstate Buses- Read my earlier article on how buses are manufactured and why so many people are killed during bus accidents. We do really need to look at the European or Australian Specifications on bus manufacturing. The current welding and riveting method of constructing buses can no longer be allowed to be practiced, is does not have public safety as its first priority. Go and ask the JPJ Technical Department do they do a roll test on the buses prior to approval of the bus chassis/frame construction? the answer is NO! Wearing seat belts on interstate buses won't help if the roof came flying off! These are things the government should be looking into... PUBLIC SAFETY. It PISSES me off!
4. Entertainment Allowances - It boggles the mind why the PM and Ministers have entertainment allowances in the first place! They go to any function, if private the tabs are paid for by the host, if government it's paid of by the relevant government agency. They host foreign dignitaries or guest the government takes the tab. Their residence, maids, cooks and drivers are paid by the government. So what do they use the entertainment allowances for? Can someone tell me? They should not have this allowance at all, instead of cutting just 10% they should give it all up! We can use it for orphanages or the hardcore poor or just towards saving the environment. It PISSES me off!
5. Mega Projects - Please enough of these mega project ideas! Just formulate projects where it benefits the rakyat, provide real jobs everywhere and that do not damage the environment. Mega Projects without real substance that only benefits a handful of companies or individuals just PISSES me off!
6. The Economy - Does the government really know what they are doing with economy? Or are they just plucking half baked ideas from the sky? Because that's what it feel like!

World Class Parks....
Author: everydaymalay

what does that really mean....Billions more dollars wasted in projects that would only benefit a small community of people... What we need is parks that are next to our home not places where we have to travel to... It should be mandatory that all housing development have 30% park space. One main central parks and many pocket parks. We have river reserves that could be turn into linear parks and wildlife corridors instead of being turned into illegal housing schemes... Components of a parks should not be wasteful monuments but practical basic components such as handicap accessible pathways wide enough for pedestrian and bicycles, gazebo for storm shelters, kickabout areas, play structures for various children age groups, sufficient bins and benches, and good signages and lighting. When space/budget permits specialized par course, reflexology zone, play courts, skateparks or waterparks can be incorporated. Plantings should be kept to structural trees and palms only. Shrub plantings are high maintenance. Generally the basic park concept should be adopted without wasteful decorative add ons. Lighting's should not overly decorative but practical in lumination and maintenance.
So please explain to me what is a world class park? Does DBKL really understand the word PARK and what is the purpose of PARKS? We need more community pocket parks through out the residential neighbourhoods not more wasteful carnage. There are many DBKL or government owned land with natural terrains that can be identified as parkzones.
Stop being obsessed with being WORLD's BIGGEST, BEST or WORLD CLASS... if you do it right you will be all that by just having the locals appreciating it. The best parks are parks that are kept natural and practical.
Visit Taiping Park, FRIM Kepong, Putrajaya Parks and KLCC Park if you want destination parks. Visit community parks in Kota Kemuning and Sunrise Seremban for practical examples of community parks.
So Raja Petra is in jail...

.... so he stop writing his nonsense for awhile..good also. An intelligent person who can read analyse and think knows that RPK just rambles on and on and on... he criticises alot, but does not take criticism to well... never publish any of my comments on his blog.. yeah i'm all for change and anti corruption and all for a better quality of life, but at least i dont just keep on criticising without giving some ideas on how things can be done better. Changing governments or people who run the government wont guarantee there is no corruption or that new people wont have their own interest at hand. Did AI do any better when he was with BN. LKS & son are hypocrites and so is KS and son (by the way KS, when Sultan's and sons give their 2cents worth of advice, just listen only la, no need to show disrespect!) Also most PKR members are those who could not cut it in BN and turned we are holier than thou...
Come on la RPK not all bloggers are the opposition or BN or at war with the government, some of us just want real leaders with honesty at heart when serving the people and have Malaysia keep on prospering. Until that reality comes we will keep on commenting on the stupidity and the ridiculousness that mediocre Malaysian politicians (BN and PR) keep cdishing out.
Maybe time away will make RPK think abit about what he writes, you cant condemn or say nasty things all the time about everyone without them ganging up on you...then again maybe time out doesnt change anything about him... whichever i 'm glad the ramblings have stopped for awhile!
and another thing...please stop talking as tho u represent all us bloggers....bloggers should stay independent with independent opinions.... if one blogger is FOS (full of shit) we will have an opinion on him too...
Dato' Zam Should Stop Speaking
Author: everydaymalay
"KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad must shoulder some of the blame for Barisan Nasional's worst-ever performance in the recent general election, says former Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin." (Star)
You were ridiculous when you were Information Minister and you are still ridiculous now. What has Dr.M gotta do with anything. He is retired and just speaking his mind like he always has. I rather listen to Dr.M then to AB or AI anytime! The fault still lies with the current UMNO wishy washy leadership in which Dato' Zam should have never been made Information Minister off. Dato' Zam was the reason for the UMNO/Barisan not seeing the impact/influence of the internet on the people. He is backdated and ill informed. I think for an Information Minister he doesn't read much. His handling of the Al-Jazera interviews on the opposition demonstrations was badly done and very unprofessional.
The loss of the 5 states to the opposition is all the fault of the current UMNO, MCA, Gerakan and MIC leadership. They all heve become so arrogant that they forget who elected them and what their real job is. All 4 Presidents should resign. Paveway for those who can lead.
Dato' Zam if you have nothing worth saying don't say any thing. Your moment is done already. Your relevancy is up!
i need to go diving....
